I have been enjoying your posts for the past year. Several of Margaret Wise Brown's Books have had places on my shelves for many years. To all of you thinking of writing a children's book. Do it! Write, draw, keep going. Join the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators and a critic group. Be careful of contracting with independent publishing companies -- you may end up with a boxes of books to give away to friends and family. Enjoy the creation.

I enjoyed this post so much and love the examples you chose to illustrate your 5 points. As a mom and former kindergarten teacher, I’ve spent many hours with Margaret Wise Brown’s books, reading them always leaves me feeling peaceful and content. 🥰

I loved this, and it makes me realise I don’t know MWB well that all. Time for a deep dive I think. Thank you for the inspiration!

If I were ever to get a tattoo, “the peepers were peeping” would be very, VERY high up there on possible lines from literature I’d be willing to give space on my body.
