Part book club, part AOL chat room
One of the best parts about working on Moonbow is connecting with this community. I particularly love when you reach out to me on Instagram to share what you’re reading. A big part of my work is combing through bookstores and the internet for incredible books to recommend. Typically, I share that process on Instagram, but this is a great place to take it further. In Moonbow’s new chat threads, let’s share our cool finds and anything else we feel would benefit this community. Think of this feature as a Moonbow Book Club, where we casually recommend things to each other. Did you find an old children’s book on the curb that you think is stellar: SHARE IT. Or hear an inspiring podcast from a children’s book author: SHARE IT! This is a non-judgmental zone where our book-loving crew can connect and converse.
I’ll still share my series “5 Things” via the Moonbow newsletter, but this will be a place for the extras—stuff that may not warrant an official email.
Here’s how it works: This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join the conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
